Brian Gugerty, DNS, RN, C

Dr. Brian Gugerty is an assistant professor in the Department of Administration, Health Policy and Informatics at the University of Maryland at Baltimore School of Nursing. He currently is an instructor and course coordinator of the web based Information & the Technology Context of Healthcare Delivery undergraduate course, and is the instructor of  Information Technology Project Management graduate course.  Prior appointments include Product Manager in the Clinical Information Systems Division of GE Medical Systems, Annapolis, Maryland, and Director of Nursing Informatics at Erie County Medical Center, Buffalo, New York.

Dr. Gugerty received his Doctorate of Nursing Science degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo in 1998.  He received his Master of Science in Nursing Administration from the State University of New York at Buffalo in 1992, and his undergraduate nursing degree from the State University of New York at Stony Brook in 1982.  Dr. Gugerty is also certified as an Informatics Nurse by the American Nurse Credentialing Center.

Dr. Gugerty's clinical background includes medical and surgical critical care, emergency room, and coronary care unit experience in the Buffalo, New York, and New York City areas.

Dr. Gugerty's current research interests lie in the development and adaptation of  the Clinical Information System Questionnaire (CISQ-15 and CISQ-36), including adapting the tool for use in measuring staff attitudes toward medication administration modules of Clinical Information Systems (CISQ-MA) and adapting the tool to evaluate staff satisfaction with Emergency Department Clinical Information System implementation (CISQ-ER).

Powhatan Wooldridge, PhD

Dr. Powhatan Wooldridge is a PhD sociologist who has been a nursing researcher and a nursing educator for many years, starting with his appointment at the Yale School of Nursing in the mid-1960's. He specializes in research on health care delivery and has authored award-winning books on nursing research and nursing theory. He is a co-developer of the CISQ-15 and the CISQ-36, which are tools similar in purpose and structure to the CISQ-MA that is currently being developed. He has co-authored articles on substantive findings based on these tools, and is experienced in drawing practice implications from research data.

Amanda Wenkosky, RN, MS

Miss Wenkosky is a Graduate Research Assistant in the Department of Administration, Health Policy, and Informatics at the University of Maryland at Baltimore School of Nursing.  She is a May 2002 graduate of the Informatics program.  She completed her undergraduate degree at the Pennsylvania State University, Worthington-Scranton campus in 2000.

Miss Wenkosky's clinical background includes intermediate cardiovascular care, telemetry and medical/surgical experience in the Northeastern Pennsylvania and Greater Baltimore areas.
